Hot Lunch Program 2005-2006
We will be using Aramark Food Service® for the hot lunch program Immanuel. The menus come pre-set from the Aramark® office. Immanuel offers two “hot” entrée options each day. Also offered each day are PBJ sandwich, mini-sub sandwich, and chef salad. (See the August/September menu for exceptions.) Hot lunch will begin on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 - the first day of school.
PRICES
Lunch money may be sent to school with the student to be turned in to the teacher in the morning. MONEY SHOULD NOT BE TURNED IN AT THE LUNCH LINE. Checks need to be made payable to Immanuel Hot Lunch. One check per family is fine - just note in the memo section the child’s name and grade, and how the check is to be divided. Through the end of September, balance notices will be sent home weekly on Thursdays to help you monitor how your child’s account is doing. After that, notices will be sent home at the middle and end of each month. Please watch for any information in the weekly school newsletter regarding hot lunch.
Hot Lunch Policy Concerning Overdue Accounts Every effort will be made to keep you (the parent) up to date on the status of your child’s hot lunch account. Notices are sent home regularly – PLEASE watch for them and use them to help keep the account current.
On the day an account goes over, the student will be given a PINK NOTICE to be taken home. This notice will say, “Don’t forget my lunch account needs money!” From this point, until money is brought from home to pay the overage, NO EXTRAS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR THIS STUDENT. Extras include ice cream bars, bags of chips, Little Debbie cakes, and juice and water bottles. Once a check is received from home, the restriction will be lifted. It is the student’s responsibility to take the pink notice home once they have received it.
In some cases when the account is negative, money will be sent from home but won’t be enough to cover the negative balance. The restriction will remain in place until the entire negative balance is paid in full, AND enough money is deposited to cover the lunch items chosen that day.
PLEASE NOTE: Even if an account is negative, no child will ever be forced to go without lunch. He/she will still be allowed to take a tray lunch – just no extra items.
We need your help to make this program continue to work. Please talk with your child about what is taken for lunch, and what you don’t want them to take. Be aware of your child’s choices, and help teach them to make wise decisions. This is a great opportunity to help your older children learn more about addition, subtraction, and budgeting skills!
If you have any suggestions, or questions/concerns, please let us know. Thanks for all your cooperation. (847) 428-1010 ext. 275
